Meet Dr. Sorkin
Andrew Sorkin, DMD

Education and Experience
Dr. Andrew Sorkin received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the State University of New York at Albany. He then attended Boston University School of Dental Medicine where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine.
After his graduation from dental school, Dr. Sorkin was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy and served as the Dental Department Head aboard the U.S.S. Whidbey Island. During his tour of duty, he was deployed to the Middle East in Support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He was awarded a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for his service during this time.
Upon completion of his military commitment, he began work in private practice with Dr. Wallace in 2002. In 2006, Dr. Sorkin was appointed to the General Dentistry staff at Sibley Memorial Hospital and is the acting consultant for general dentistry for the Renaissance Skilled Nursing Facility.
Dr. Sorkin is an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry, Southern Maryland Dental Society, and the American Dental Association. He has a keen interest in treating patients with Temporomandibular Disorders (TMD).
Outside the Office
In his spare time, you may see Dr. Sorkin swimming, biking, or running through Montgomery, Howard, or Carroll County. He has completed numerous Olympic and Half-Ironman distance triathlons. His goal is to one day qualify for the Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii. Originally from New York, he and his wife, Stacey, live in Brookeville with their son and daughter.
